concerning fiscal responsibility thru savings, checking and other banking vehicles. Gloria Johnson from Goodwill provided students with information concerning available jobs as well as information concerning jobs training

Employability Skills Presentation
October 25, 2021
This activity was coordinated by Board Member Gloria Johnson. Students were given a presentation on Employability Skills on Monday, October 25th. There were five speakers representing Goodwill, FedEx, The Landings, and The PARC (Pennsylvania Avenue Recreation Center).

Economic Development Review

Several WBL Business Advisory Committee Members assisted in the Georgia DOE Economic Development Review in which the Savannah Chatham County Public School System is seeking the designation of Economic Development School System. Committee members participated in panel discussions as well as led some of the discussion sessions.

Two participants from the Savannah community Ms. Shaquan Gaither, Department Head of Paralegal Studies at Savannah Technical College and Mr. Detric Legget, Savannah City Councilman of District 2 and member of our advisory board committee were guest speakers at our FBLA Career Awareness Day.
Veteran's Appreciation
Our Committee Member Cornelia Hall assisted with the Veteran's Day Appreciation.
FBLA Meeting with the Mayor
The Mayor of Savannah, a member of our Advisory Board, was invited to attend one of our FBLA meetings on March 3, 2022. Mayor Van Johnson spoke on the topic leadership.
